Enhancing Project Mgmt with Portfolio and Program Mgmt Disciplines: Although Project Management has become a common discipline, Program Management and Portfolio Management are still evolving. They have become recognized as distinct disciplines, in part due to the publication of PMI’s Standard for Program Management and Standard for Portfolio Management. These standards provide a foundation for the Program and Portfolio disciplines—much like the PMBOK Guide has for Project Management. Additionally, the introduction of the new Program Management Professional (PgMP) credential further raises the bar.
Join us for an overview of the Program and Portfolio Management disciplines and how they interrelate to the Project Management discipline that we are so familiar with. A demonstration will also be provided on the tools that Project Sever 2010 provides to help you manage your organization’s project portfolio. Please join us as we examine the similarities and differences of these disciplines.
Brian Grafsgaard, PgMP, PMP, the Director of Professional Services at QBS, a Minnetonka, Minnesota-based portfolio, program, and project management consulting firm will be presenting.
